Hey Everyone,
I know competition season is in full swing now and many of you are starting to agonize over your peak week. Sodium, water, carbs, oh my! What should you do? There is so much information out there but 99% of it is nonsense. Unfortunately, I can only personally prep so many competitors at once but that doesn’t mean I can’t help the rest of you all out a bit! I recently did a complete ‘peak week’ video series for bodybuilding.com. You can check out the complete series here:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/layne-norton-peak-week-episodes.html
Here is the the video intro to the series:
I would also suggest viewing contest prep episodes from my old series, “Inside the Life of a Pro Natural Bodybuilder” where I discuss sodium and fluid dynamics in detail:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/insidethelife6.htm

Also a link to a thread where I further discuss fluid dynamics and sodium:

And finally a link to my peak week Q&A thread:
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=132940313
I hope you find this information helpful and relevant. I am on vacation right now in Puerto Rico to celebrate my 3 year anniversary with my wife, so I likely won’t be able to get to many questions in the next few weeks, but if you watch the videos and read the threads you will find it is likely your question has already been addressed.
Best of luck at your shows this year!
Til’ next time,
Layne

Hey Layne,
ReplyDeleteFirst off, thanks for the series of videos. I came across your name / website / videos today which happens to be 2 days before my show on Sunday. One of the biggest benefits I got from all your content was the peace of mind. I spent all last night reading different peak week protocols ("eat cans of pie filling and pizza") which strayed drastically from the program I'm following that John Berardi supplied. It was cause for stress and confusion; your sane words, however, calm that. Thank you.
One quick question: my roommate and I are in this together. Will one bottle of dream tan be sufficient for the two of us or should we get a second?
Again, I want to thank you for the resources you've put out. As a first time bodybuilder, it all was invaluable.
Cheers,
Collin
